Cameras at the recycling station read your number plate and take a photo zoomed in on the number plate. The picture focuses on the number plate, both front and back.
We use number plate recognition at the recycling stations in order to administrate invoicing.
Categories of personal data
We process information about a car’s number plate (only applies to commercial number plates), time of entry and exit from the recycling station, as well as information about the owner of the car if necessary due to invoicing.
Basis for processing
The purpose of processing personal data happens on the basis of tasks in the interest of society in order to administrate access to our areas cf. the General Data Protection Regulation’s art. 6, section 1 (e).
In the case of invoicing, processing of data may also be necessary in order to meet bookkeeping obligations cf. the General Data Protection Regulation’s art. 6, section 1 (b)(c).
Receivers of personal data
The collected data is not passed on to third parties unless it is deemed necessary for charges of fees or the enforcement of law. The data can be handed over to our data processers who take care of administration and maintenance of our number plate recognition systems.
Storage of personal data
Number plate data is stored up to 30 days unless e.g. complaints or judicial disputes give concrete reason for an extension of the storage period. Subsequently, the data will be deleted or anonymised. Data connected to invoicing is stored in the current year plus 5 years.
